The Discovery With LOUDPACK PALMZ

Tell us about yourself? How important has the internet been for your movement?

LOUDPACK: I started writing at 14, so the internet has been a great help as far as getting music heard globally. Back in the day it took foot work to get your name and music out.

LOUDPACK: These days I do not battle rap, I used to back in the late 90's just for fun and respect but, battle rap won't put food on my table. A few people I know such as T Rex, Murda nook, and K shine are eating off battles. That has been there lane since they where pre age. I rather sit and focus on my craft and music, and write verses and songs

LOUDPACK: I wouldn't say rap has taken me from the streets, it hasn't saved me from the everyday grind. The street will always be in me and in some way be reflected through my music, whether my time in the street, making it out the "game" or the things I've seen

LOUDPACK: Right now I am working on 3 mix tapes and an album. The album should be ready around December, the mix tapes will be dropping later in august and September.

LOUDPACK: Coming out of Harlem I feel no pressure to live up to legacies, I do want to be respected and remembered, Harlem breeds great rappers, but I don't plan to be a come and go artist.

How's the radio/ streets taking your music?

LOUDPACK: My music hasn't hit mainstream radio yet. I have songs that have aired on internet radio, and independent radio stations. A few of my songs are on radioairplay.com and has been heard globally, I get great listens and feedback. The older crowd respects and appreciates the music I make because its authentic, its real rap music. Relatable, understandable and timeless. Not music that is OK this season, and out of sync the next. Songs from years ago are relevant today, no mumble rap, no Molly or syrup. Just home-grown rap.

When you were younger what was the scene like in your part of town? Who were the guys you looked up to growing up?

LOUDPACK: When I was growing up and grew love for hip hop I listened to Big L, Naz, Kool G Rap, Biggie. Only a handful of my friends tried to rap and it was for fun, but I found a passion for it and ran with it.

Who have you been working with so far? We can see you've really been networking your music, having collaborations with artists as far as South Carolina, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania to name a couple of hoods...

LOUDPACK: I have a few songs with BJ Bowers out of Georgia, Paco Tarantino out of South Carolina, Joe Grizzy out of Wilkes Barre PA, E prestige from Queens. The list is long. And networking is key.

You've been doing a lot of shows in and out of the neighbourhood. Do you have a team or a manager that helps you secure gigs? Do guys call you? How do you really go about getting your shows?

LOUDPACK: I have no manager or team helping me make the moves I try and make. I book my own shows, I invest in myself and throw/host showcases for independent artist to be seen and heard. From time to time I get phone calls from local promoters to open up for an artist or host/perform at venues. But nothing huge yet.

Are you currently signed or are you looking for a label?

LOUDPACK: Currently unsigned to a record label but I own my own publishing company and the catalog is growing week by week, its good to have ownership. I'm definitely looking for a label or investor to give my movement a little boost because at the beginning and end of day it takes money to make money. Time just isn't enough of an investment to get where you are trying to go.

What advice do you have for upcoming artists trying to make money in the industry?

LOUDPACK: My advice to an up and coming artist is to not quit or give up . Every experience is a learning experience. Form a small team of like - minded and goal oriented people and results will unfold. Stay true to yourself, don't change what you do because you see what someone else is doing is working for them. Stay sucker free and honest to self. I get inspiration to write from life, an everyday activity or encounter.

Where does the inspiration for your music come from?

LOUDPACK: I used to write poems to express myself, and that turned into rap. My music is conversational to most

And finally where do we find you on social media?

LOUDPACK: You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, twitter, SoundCloud, Reverbnation, google play, and spotify- LoudPack Palmz everything. You can also Google "LoudPack Palmz" for photos and additional links to sites.

Any shout outs?

LOUDPACK: Big shout out to Get That Paper Gang, shout out Harlem, North eastern PA, Unbound Music, Diamond City Hustlers and all artist tryna make a dream come true. I salute you, Palmz
